Following a breakthrough performance in 'Squid Game,' Lee Jung-jae will embody the lead role in the upcoming film titled 'Star Wars: The Acolyte.' This also marks the actor's debut in the Hollywood film industry.
Actor Lee Jung-jae is set to play the male lead in the film 'Star Wars: The Acolyte' produced by Disney+. Set a century before the events of 'Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace' (1999), the movie will depict galaxies and the entire universe at the pinnacle of the Galactic Republic, during the era when the Jedi were at their strongest and the Sith were believed to have been eradicated from the galaxy.
Alongside Lee Jung-jae's appearance, the co-creator of the comedy series 'Russian Doll,' Leslye Headland, will also become the producer of the spin-off 'War of the Stars.' Notably, actresses Amandla Steinberg and Jodie Turner Smith are rumored to join the cast of this project.
As of the current moment, details about the Emmy-nominated actor's role remain undisclosed, and Disney+ has not released any official statements regarding his participation in the series. Nevertheless, the Hollywood media views the South Korean star's presence in 'Star Wars: The Acolyte' as a victory for Lucasfilm and director Leslye Headland, as studios worldwide are actively seeking collaborations with Lee Jung-jae.
