1. Alarm Raised Over Air Pollution Crisis in Hanoi: Residents Flock to Buy Air Purifiers
Amidst the recent surge in air pollution levels, many households have rushed to purchase various types of air purifiers.
Over the past week, experts have continuously issued warnings about the severe air pollution levels in major cities, notably in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, caused by vehicle emissions, factories, waste, etc., significantly affecting the health of residents, especially the elderly and young children.
These warnings have left Hanoi residents deeply concerned, prompting them to seek out air purification devices to safeguard their health and that of their family members. Consequently, the air purifier market is hotter than ever due to the surge in demand.
According to a survey by Intellectual Property Journalists at the Mytour electronics store chain, various models of air purifiers are prominently displayed at the entrance, featuring diverse brands such as Coway, Hitachi, Sharp, Daikin, Panasonic... originating from South Korea, Thailand, China... The selling price also varies depending on the functions of each product.

Air purifiers are available at Mytour on Lac Long Quan Street, Tay Ho District, Hanoi.
Some air purifiers, such as Sharp models equipped with dehumidification function, are sold at prices ranging from 5 - 8 million VND. Additionally, certain Coway models come with features like essential oil diffusers, humidifiers, or ionizing fans, ranging from 7 - 15 million VND. Electrolux models are priced around 3.2 - 10 million VND. Among the models, Panasonic is the bestseller with prices ranging from 2,900,000 to 8,900,000 VND per unit, featuring odor elimination technology, antibacterial nano-technology, virus prevention, and skin moisturizing.
Observations indicate that air purifiers are typically compact in size, weighing only between 1-6kg. This makes them convenient for placement on desks, wall mounting, or shelves, effectively purifying the air in rooms with multiple computers, TVs, lights, or environments prone to unpleasant odors such as kitchens or storage rooms.
At Nguyen Kim electronics supermarket, located at 19 Nguyen Chi Thanh, Hanoi, staff members share that air purifiers have garnered significant attention lately. While Japanese and Korean brands remain popular choices, Chinese brands are also sought after due to their competitive pricing.

Air purifiers come in relatively compact sizes.
According to the sales staff, not only does the air purifier help filter the air during polluted weather, but it also can create moisture during dry seasons. Moreover, in winter, it absorbs moisture, making the room dry and comfortable, so it is a very reasonable choice for every family.
At the Mytour electronics store on Lac Long Quan street, employees also mentioned that only a few models are left because recently many customers have come to buy this item. Most customers want to find an air purifier that can effectively solve pollution problems at an affordable price.
While researching air purifiers, Ms. Hoai Anh, a resident on Pham Van Dong Street, Hanoi, shared that recently, when going to work, she hears everyone complaining about air pollution, so she's very worried, especially since her family has young children. She doesn't know if this air purifier can solve the problem, but having it at home provides some peace of mind.
Speaking about spending millions to buy an air purifier, Ms. Minh Chau from To Ngoc Van, Tay Ho, Hanoi, said that her family has a 13-month-old baby who has had pneumonia since infancy, leading to a month-long hospital stay. She's very concerned about respiratory issues like rhinitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, and almost every month, they have to visit the hospital for check-ups. Recently, the baby's nose has been stuffy, possibly due to weather changes, but she thinks it's partly due to air pollution. Worried, she and her husband invested in a 12 million VND air purifier after hearing advertisements claiming it can filter small dust particles, eliminate mold, harmful bacteria... They're not sure if it works, but they bought it for peace of mind.
Not only in physical markets but also online platforms are buzzing with air purifier sales. Many websites are offering numerous promotions to attract customers, such as up to 50% off, 0% installment support... The advertised functions of these machines include air purification, humidification, dehumidification... For domestic Japanese products, prices can reach nearly 30 million VND.
