Galaxy Z Fold4 vs. Galaxy Z Fold3 Comparison: Many Worthwhile Upgrades (updated: 10/08)
Regarding the exterior of the Galaxy Z Fold4, based on the images released at the event, I noticed that the design of this foldable device doesn't differ significantly from the Galaxy Z Fold3, with only a few minor tweaks such as reducing the vertical dimensions to increase the width of the device. The frame of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is still crafted from the highest-grade Armor Aluminum material to enhance the device's durability while ensuring a balanced weight to provide the best handling experience for users.
The hinge mechanism of the Galaxy Z Fold4 has been slightly adjusted internally to ensure a perfect connection of the frame, enhancing durability during continuous folding and unfolding, and providing a secure fixation for the most peace of mind in usage. On the outside, this hinge is slightly smaller than the previous version, indicating that we will enjoy a wider screen. Additionally, the back surface of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is textured, helping to reduce sweat and fingerprint marks.
The front display of the Galaxy Z Fold4 measures 6.2 inches with Full HD+ resolution protected by durable Gorilla Glass Victus, ensuring users' peace of mind. Although the screen size remains the same, Samsung has adjusted the height and width of the display to a 23.1:9 aspect ratio instead of 24.5:9 on the Galaxy Z Fold3. Additionally, the front screen is 2.7 mm wider than its predecessor, providing users with a slightly wider viewing angle and a more attractive outer bezel.
When unfolded, the Galaxy Z Fold4's display still measures 7.6 inches, operating on a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate, slightly wider than its predecessor. As for the hidden selfie camera, Samsung has truly outdone themselves this year. It took me quite some time to even notice the selfie camera on the Galaxy Z Fold4. Additionally, the display quality on the Galaxy Z Fold3 was already excellent, with deep blacks, balanced colors, and high brightness. So with the Galaxy Z Fold4, everything is still reproduced incredibly well, leaving you completely satisfied with it.

Hands-on with the Galaxy Z Fold4: Enhanced design, powerhouse Snap 8+ Gen1 (update: 10/08)
In terms of design, the Galaxy Z Fold4 still carries the essence of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold3, but with a reduced length and increased width. However, when unfolded, the device still becomes a 7.6-inch tablet, and when folded, it reverts to a smartphone with a 6.2-inch screen.

Before the release, I had high hopes that the Galaxy Z Fold4 would change its design slightly, such as not having a gap when folded, similar to how OPPO implemented it on the OPPO Find N, and this turned out to be true. When holding the device, it feels familiar yet quite novel because of its compactness, weighing only 263 g with a wider display area.

The back of the Galaxy Z Fold4 still features a matte finish, which helps prevent sweat and fingerprint marks during use. Additionally, Samsung has equipped it with Gorilla Glass Victus+ for durability, Armor Aluminum frame, and IPX8 water resistance to enhance the smartphone's durability and provide users with peace of mind.

Galaxy Z Fold4 launch: Top-notch specs, slim, lightweight, superior (update: 10/08)

So it's been a year since the launch of Galaxy Z Fold3, and fans once again welcome the return of Galaxy Z Fold4, a masterpiece of foldable phone technology from Samsung. Thinner bezels, lighter weight, superior to its predecessor, and packed with breakthrough technologies.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 looks no different from Galaxy Z Fold3 on the surface. However, Samsung doesn't disappoint fans with improvements in display area and grip feel. Specifically, the screen bezels have been slimmed down along with reduced weight, and the hinge, crafted by the company's hands, offers an incredibly optimized folding experience. As a result, the weight of the device has been reduced to just 263 grams.
On the front and back, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 features Gorilla Glass Victus+ - the latest and most durable glass on the market. The frame and hinge are also equipped with Armor Aluminum for a luxurious feel and maximum impact resistance.

In terms of specifications, Galaxy Z Fold4 confidently boasts the most modern technology available up to now. The device's display utilizes Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, with a size of 6.2 inches (when folded) and 7.6 inches (when unfolded). The resolutions for both are HD+ (2,316 x 904 pixels) and QXGA+ (2,176 x 1,812 pixels) respectively. Both have a whopping brightness of 1,000 nits, ensuring comfortable operation even in bright sunlight, with a refresh rate ranging from 1 Hz to 120 Hz using LTPO technology.

Regarding performance, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 confidently takes the lead by equipping the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor (currently the most powerful processor by Qualcomm). With this upgrade, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have superior performance compared to its predecessor. The camera is one of the highlights when it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold4, featuring an under-display camera, with an external camera of 10 MP, F2.2. The rear camera consists of 3 lenses: ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto, with specifications of 12 MP, F2.2, 50 MP, F1.8, 10 MP F2.4 respectively. Of particular note is that both the wide and telephoto lenses feature optical image stabilization (OIS), with the telephoto lens receiving additional favor with optical 3X zoom technology and 30X spatial zoom.

In other hardware aspects, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 features advanced 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, internal storage with three options: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. It packs a 4,400 mAh battery with wired charging speed of 25 W and wireless charging speed of 10 W. The device will be available in three color options: Black, Cream, and Blue.

Galaxy Z Fold4 Design and Specs Leak (Updated: 07/04)
On 07/04, a Facebook account named Fresh Milk posted on the Fanpage Vật Vờ Studio with what I think is quite important information about the Galaxy Z Fold4. Specifically, the device will retain almost 99% of the design of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold3, but will be slightly improved to become more polished.

According to the information, the hidden selfie camera on the Galaxy Z Fold4 is becoming more polished, making it difficult for people to notice the front camera and improving image processing capabilities. As for the rear camera, it is highly likely to be 108 MP, similar to previous rumors. For me, this is undoubtedly a significant advantage of the Galaxy Z Fold4 compared to other foldable devices. A high-resolution camera combined with sophisticated algorithms that the company has been emphasizing recently, I believe that the photo-taking experience on the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be excellent.

Another noteworthy piece of information is that the Galaxy Z Fold4 may cost over $100 more, meaning the device will have a price tag of $1,900 (approximately 44.3 million VND) for the standard version. This price point may not be easily accessible, but in the future, the company may introduce some attractive incentives for users, so don't worry too much. As for why the Galaxy Z Fold4 is priced higher, it could be due to the limited supply chain after the pandemic and the device featuring more worthwhile upgrades than its predecessor.
Galaxy Z Fold4 Concept: Beautiful Design and Worthwhile Upgrades
On May 11, the website GSMArena published images from reputable leaker OnLeaks revealing the overall design of the Galaxy Z Fold4. Specifically, the appearance of the Galaxy Z Fold4 retains the same exterior and folding mechanism as its predecessor, so the device will still have a compact overall design that is easy to handle. To get the most comprehensive view of the Galaxy Z Fold4, you can refer to the video posted by the YouTube channel Technizo Concept, as I believe the device in this video aligns well with the leaked information.
Through the video, we can see the back of the device featuring a rear camera module protruding similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, which aligns well with the information published by GSMArena. Additionally, the inner screen of the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a size of 7.6 inches, with a aspect ratio possibly being 23:9 instead of 24.5:9 like on the Galaxy Z Fold3. In my opinion, this change is quite reasonable because it will reduce black bars when watching movies, playing games, etc., which is something I didn't like much about the predecessor.

In terms of image quality, users can rest assured as Samsung devices are always highly regarded for their displays, so it's likely that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will excel in this aspect. Some pros of the display capabilities include: OLED display, 120 Hz refresh rate, compatibility with Samsung's 'legendary' S-Pen,... However, I hope the company can integrate the pen into the phone like the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G, as having the pen externally is quite inconvenient and cumbersome to carry and use.

In the predecessor generation, Galaxy Z Fold3 has improved a lot in terms of screen crease, and in my experience, Samsung has done quite well. However, some opinions suggest that the screen crease is still noticeable and users can easily feel it. Will this issue be addressed in Galaxy Z Fold4?

Twitter account @UniverseIce has captured the screen design of Galaxy Z Fold4 and also indicated that the device will have significant upgrades compared to the predecessor Galaxy Z Fold3, especially in the crease area. According to recent leaked images, the crease between the screens will be blurred and less noticeable. Therefore, we can hope that Samsung has improved the folding screen technology to achieve a smoother surface and the crease will be almost 'invisible' to users.

Moreover, the news site Gizmochina quotes leaker Jon Prosser, revealing that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will come in three color options: Phantom Black, Green, and Beige. So, in addition to the familiar black and green colors, this year we will have a new color option on the Galaxy Z Fold4. Knowing this information, I am very excited, expecting, and looking forward to the launch event to see the new colors of the Galaxy Z Fold4.
Galaxy Z Fold4 features a powerful configuration with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip
According to Techradar, it is highly likely that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is manufactured on the TSMC 4nm process, significantly optimized for power consumption and heat dissipation. By transitioning from Samsung's manufacturing process to TSMC's, Qualcomm has increased energy efficiency by up to 30% for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. As a result, devices using this processor will have significantly reduced power consumption and better heat dissipation, leading to increased battery life and higher performance.

In addition, GSMArena has also revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have internal storage of up to 1 TB. This is double the maximum internal storage of the Galaxy Z Fold3 (512 GB). With up to 1 TB of internal storage, you can store a lot of movies, photos, record high-quality videos, and comfortably download various heavy apps.

One thing I find quite regrettable is that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will only be equipped with a similar battery capacity to its predecessor, with a capacity of 4,500 mAh. Although this capacity is somewhat lower than competitors in the same segment, it is a trade-off when the device needs to balance with the thin and light design. I also hope that Samsung will optimize better on the Galaxy Z Fold4 so that the device can meet the usage needs for nearly a day with basic tasks.

To compensate somewhat for the modest battery capacity of Galaxy Z Fold4, the device will be equipped with fast charging up to 45 W, significantly reducing charging time and minimizing interruptions to work.
Galaxy Z Fold4 boasts an incredible camera with a resolution of up to 108 MP
According to Notebookcheck, Samsung will equip Galaxy Z Fold4 with a 108 MP resolution camera similar to the one on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This information was shared after recent reports (according to Notebookcheck) mentioned that Samsung's new foldable smartphone would use a 3x zoom lens like the one on the Galaxy S22 series. A few days ago, reports also revealed that Samsung would equip its premium foldable smartphone, Galaxy Z Fold4, with the 3x tele camera from the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ duo.

For me, this is undoubtedly a worthwhile upgrade of the Z Fold4 compared to its predecessor. With a high-resolution camera combined with sophisticated algorithms developed by Samsung, I believe that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will deliver high-quality photos. It's clear that Samsung is heavily focusing on the camera capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold4 this year to provide users with the best photography experience.

The most important thing for me about the Galaxy Z Fold4 is whether Samsung has improved the under-display selfie camera this year. The reason is that the hidden camera and the full-screen design indeed make the phone more impressive, but the image quality is slightly reduced. Therefore, I really hope Samsung can address this issue to provide an even better experience for users.
How much will the Galaxy Z Fold4 cost? When will the Galaxy Z Fold4 be released?
Gizmochina cited leaker Jon Prosser, revealing that Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on August 10th. According to the source, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold4, the new Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro at this event. If this turns out to be true, Samsung's flagship foldable phone will be unveiled around the same time as its predecessors.

Currently, the official price of the Galaxy Z Fold4 has not been revealed yet. However, I predict that the price may be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold3 at launch, around 41.99 million VND. What about you? How do you predict? Leave your comments below! Thank you for reading my article.
