Empathy Level 1
- Inflict damage 4 times to surrounding enemies, dealing 50 (+40% Physical Attack) physical damage each time.
- Additionally, gain a shield that absorbs 100 (+20% Physical Attack) damage for 2 seconds (can move and gain 10% Movement Speed for 1 second during ability activation).
Innate ability at Level 1.Empathy Level 2
- Stab three times to inflict damage. The first two stabs deal 30 (+35% Physical Attack) physical damage each and heal 8 (+2/Lv) (+15% Physical Attack) HP for self. The third stab deals 170 (+70% Physical Attack) physical damage and heals 16 (+4/Lv) (+30% Physical Attack) HP for self.
- The healing effect of each stab can increase up to 3 times based on the lost HP of Van Anh.
Innate ability at Level 2 with healing capabilities.Empathy Level 3
- Upon activation, Van Anh gains momentum and deals 100 (+60% Physical Attack) - 300 (+180% Physical Attack) physical damage to all enemies on the collision path. Damage reaches maximum when enemies are below 50% HP.
- While executing, Van Anh can still move and traverse terrain. Additionally, she gains 200% Movement Speed and 10% damage reduction.
Innate ability at Level 3 capable of ranged damage. This is considered one of the most detailed innates in both VGVD and Arena of Valor for a solo lane specialist like Van Anh. With each tier, Van Anh can adapt to different situations in the match, such as harassing enemies at Level 1, self-healing at Level 2, and utilizing Level 3 in combat and finishing off opponents.
Ability 1 - Moon Slice
- Van Anh swings the Flame Comb, launching the target into the air for 0.5 seconds then strikes down, dealing physical damage twice, each dealing 100 (+50% Physical Attack) physical damage.
Ability 1 with annoying launching capability. With a detailed innate ability and various attack forms at each tier, Van Anh's Ability 1 is just a supplementary move for her combo series. Though seemingly simple, with a 0.5-second launch, Van Anh can easily annoy less agile champions.
Ability 2 - Chase of Spirits
- Van Anh activates her ability, continuously gaining a maximum 30% acceleration, when reaching maximum activation or manually ending it, Van Anh charges forward while sweeping a crescent-shaped fire area dealing 80 (+50% Physical Attack) - 160 (+100% Physical Attack) physical damage and reducing enemy movement speed by 30% for 1 second.
- The longer the activation time, the longer the acceleration effect and the greater the damage, the farther the glide distance.
If both Van Anh's innate ability and Ability 1 are used for offense and defense in the lane phase, then Ability 2 - Chase of Spirits can be used for both attacking and moving through terrain. With a longer activation mechanism, the glide distance increases, allowing Van Anh to surpass any wall in the Endless Abyss to pursue enemies.
Ability 3 - Axis of Stars
- Van Anh dashes forward quickly over a short distance, dealing 70 (+55% Physical Attack) physical damage to enemies along the path and knocking them up. When using the skill, she gains immunity and 10% damage reduction.
- After the glide, Van Anh repeatedly stabs enemies four times, each stab dealing 35 (+27% Physical Attack) physical damage, then glides back to the initial position, dealing 70 (+55% Physical Attack) physical damage and pulling them back to the skill's end location.
- Activation 2: Sweeps a crescent-shaped area, dealing 70 (+55% Physical Attack) physical damage to the target and burning the ground with a spear, leaving a fire trail that lasts for 3s, dealing 30 (+10% Physical Attack) magic damage every 0.2s to enemies standing on the fire trail.
The ultimate ability can attack multiple targets.
Reactivating the ultimate ability can deal damage over time. With wide range and annoying knock-up capability, Axis of Stars is the skill that helps Van Anh easily initiate combat or coordinate with teammates. By knocking up and gathering enemies towards the direction of her Ult, Van Anh can effectively combo with certain heroes like Baldum (with Earth Splitting Ult) or Grakk (with Devour Ult). On the second activation, Van Anh's fire trail lasts longer and continuously damages enemies, making it a potential death sentence for enemies in chaotic team fights.
Playstyle
With a fiery and collision-prone playstyle, Van Anh is the newest contender for the Caesar lane in Arena of Valor, alongside fierce competitors like Florentino, Veres, and Qi... Van Anh's legendary combo in VGVD is used with Ability 1 and Ability 3 to initiate combat and sweep through opponents, while Ability 2 can be used for both escape and pursuit very effectively.
Interim Conclusion
After arriving in Arena of Valor, Van Anh will quickly be embraced by gamers thanks to her comprehensive set of abilities including damage dealing, knock-up, healing, mobility,... She will be a worthy adversary to a dominating Florentino in the Caesar lane.
