When is Hue Festival 2016 taking place?

With the theme '710 years Thuan Hoa – Phu Xuan – Thua Thien – Hue – Cultural heritage with integration and development', the 9th edition of Hue Festival will be held from April 29 to May 4, 2016. The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of April 29 at the Hue Imperial City.

What makes Hue Festival 2016 extraordinary?

As part of the 9th edition of Hue Festival, there will be the East Asian - Latin American Mayors Conference (FEALAC). Additionally, this event will see the participation of artistic delegations from 5 continents.

The Festival Organizing Committee announces that 18 countries such as France, Belgium, Russia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Poland, Morocco, China, South Korea, Japan, Israel, Sri Lanka, Australia, the United States, Mexico, Chile, Colombia... have officially confirmed their participation.

Among them, some renowned artistic groups include: L’Homme Debout Street Art Troupe, Par Terre Contemporary Hip hop Dance Troupe, and Fuzeta Band (France), Cancer Band (Denmark), Amurskie Zori Folk Dance Troupe (Russia), singer Anna Calvi (UK), Takamine Hisae Dance Troupe (Okinawa, Japan), Halleluja Folk Dance Troupe (Israel), Vinyasa Academy Folk Dance Troupe (Sri Lanka), and Della Mae Band (USA)...

Furthermore, dozens of domestic artistic groups will continue to participate, bringing outstanding programs such as: Hue Royal Arts Theater, Thang Long Hanoi Musical Theater, Bong Sen Ho Chi Minh City Musical Theater, Central Musical Theater, Cleopatra Dance Group...

Especially, the 2016 Hue Festival will focus on exploring traditional cultural spaces, continuing the legacy of previous festivals. The entire city of Hue will be transformed into a stage for artistic performances, gastronomy, heritage exploration, and celebrations.
