To conceal his true identity from others, Obito always wears a mask throughout the Naruto story.
Obito is one of Naruto's great antagonists and one of the most well-developed characters in the series. Obito is even directly responsible for much of the suffering Naruto and Sasuke endure throughout the story. Due to the need to conceal his identity, there is a constant feature in his design: the masks.
Everyone thought Obito died in the Third Great Ninja War. After a mission of Obito's group encountered serious problems and he sacrificed himself under colossal boulders.
But it turns out it was all part of Madara Uchiha and Black Zetsu's plan for him to have a successor and help Madara revive in the future.
After inheriting Madara, Obito starts acting under this name and even has to disguise himself as Tobi to infiltrate the Akatsuki organization. To do so, Obito wears a mask revealing only one eye - a crucial detail about the true identity of the antagonist character.
However, this isn't Obito's first or even the only mask he uses. By merging with White Zetsu in an attempt to assist his endangered ninja team (another sinister plan of Madara's after rescuing him from rubble), Obito obtained his first mask.

Later, Obito dons a new mask when attacking the Leaf Village and releasing the Nine-Tails, causing the sacrifice of dozens of ninja, including Naruto's parents. It's with this mask that he participated in the Uchiha clan massacre alongside Itachi.

Next is the iconic mask associated with Obito in fans' minds. It's the mask bearing the moniker Tobi when he joined the Akatsuki.

Towards the end, Obito uses a new mask during the Fourth Shinobi World War. This mask combines designs of Sharingan eyes with Rinnegan.

But... before all that, before Obito was saved by Madara and Black Zetsu from the rubble, when he was still an idealistic ninja aspiring to become Hokage and save the world, he had another mask. That mask had a structure covering the eyes with transparent lenses, as at that time Obito didn't need to conceal his identity.
