Hello, Mrs. Smith and fellow classmates of 7A. My name is Tuấn Minh. In today's Speaking and Listening class, I'd like to share my thoughts on the poem 'Mother' by poet Đỗ Trung Lai. This is the poem that left the strongest impression on me among the three or four short poems that we've studied in 7th-grade Language Arts - Sky Wings.
I wonder if anyone else likes this poem as much as I do? What aspects of the poem do you like? As for me, I'm impressed with 'Mother' because of its unique content and artistic form.
Witnessing my mother growing old and frail, a child cannot help but feel sorrowful and sigh. According to the laws of nature, my mother's once slender and weak back gradually bends 'Mother's back is bent/ The bridge remains straight'. Time can make a bridge grow lush and green but it also takes away life from my mother 'The bridge is close to the sky/ Mother is close to the earth!'. The more I become dismayed, the more painful it is to see my mother wrinkled and hunched 'Now the bridge is repaired/ Mother still feels shy'. Could it be that as I grow up and mature, my mother grows older? The simile 'A dry piece of betel nut/ As dry and thin as my mother' helps me to further understand the tightening pain, the deep sorrow in the heart of a child. The gentle question at the end of the poem 'Why is our mother old?' not only asks the vast sky and wide earth but also questions from the child's own introspection.
With familiar poetic imagery, concise four-line verses along with literary techniques such as: contrast 'The bridge gets taller and taller/ Mother gets shorter and shorter', simile 'As dry and thin as my mother' have contributed to highlighting the theme of the poem. Through this, we also feel the love, respect of the child for the elderly mother.
Hopefully, after reading this work, we will always love and care for our parents. Let's study hard and cultivate morality to become obedient children of our families, my friend!

Greetings, everyone. My name is Hà Anh. In today's class, I would like to share my impressions of the poem 'Ông đồ' by the author Vũ Đình Liên. This is my favorite piece among the four or five-word poems we've learned in the 7th-grade literature program. Please follow along and listen.
At the beginning of the poem, the image of the old scholar sitting beside 'inkstone, red paper' reminds us of the ancient values of our nation. As Tet approaches, one can see the figure of the old scholar writing couplets 'Every year the peach blossoms bloom/ And once again the old scholar appears old.' The elegant strokes of the old scholar's calligraphy captivate those out for a stroll during the spring festival, causing them to pause and admire. They praise his talent and skill. However, as time flows, Nho becomes introspective, and people forget the good values. The image of the old scholar still sits in the busy street with red paper, dipping his brush, unnoticed by anyone. The desolate scene 'Golden leaves fall on paper/ Outside, dust and rain dance' vividly portrays the lonely, isolated situation of the old scholar. The rhetorical question at the end of the poem, 'Where is his soul now?' expresses sorrow and sadness at a generation of talent that has faded due to changing times.
Vũ Đình Liên's poem, written in concise five-word verses, leaves readers with deep emotions. Additionally, the simple, rustic language combined with personification 'The sad red paper, ink gathers in pensiveness', and simile 'Peach blossom petals dance like phoenixes, dragons' contribute to depicting the image of the old scholar before and after Nho's enlightenment.
From here, the author expresses sincere sorrow for the talented generations and the good traditional values. Hopefully, each of us will always be conscious of preserving, developing, and preserving the customs and culture that our ancestors painstakingly built.
My presentation will conclude here. Thank you, everyone, for listening.
