Since the beginning of 2023, the Bà Chúa Xứ Shrine on Sam Mountain has attracted a large number of pilgrims during the Lunar New Year.
Since the Lunar New Year of the Tiger 2023, crowds of people and vehicles from all provinces and cities have flocked to Sam Mountain National Tourist Area. On the peak days of the 4th, 5th, and 14th, 15th of the 1st lunar month, the number of tourists reached 125,700. To date, the Bà Chúa Xứ Shrine on Sam Mountain has welcomed over 1.2 million visitors.

Most tourists come here to worship Bà Chúa Xứ, pray for a peaceful new year, fulfillment of wishes, and participate in festival activities.
With a higher number of pilgrims than usual this year, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee has promptly issued directives to ensure security and safety for tourists. At the same time, resolutely preventing the occurrence of social vices during the festival season such as: deceptive schemes, tourist harassment, fraud, and baiting…
Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Hoan - Head of the Management Board of Sam Mountain Shrines stated, “Since the beginning of 2023, we have strengthened and recruited additional security forces to patrol the main gate area, rear gate, and within the precincts of the Lady Temple; leveraging the effectiveness of 90 security cameras and loudspeakers to warn residents and tourists to beware of pickpockets, swindlers, harassment, and nuisance to tourists… Thus, ensuring security and safety for tourists.”
Deputy Chairman of Chau Doc City People's Committee Tran Quoc Tuan informed, “An Giang Province has maximized the deployment of police and mobile forces to regularly inspect and control the security situation around the Lady of the Realm Shrine on Sam Mountain, ensuring maximum safety for tourists and traffic safety within the city.”
The Lady of the Realm Shrine on Sam Mountain, located in Nui Sam Ward (Chau Doc City), is known as a famous spiritual tourism destination chosen by many for pilgrimage during the New Year.
