In contrast to the list of devices upgraded to Android 8.0 as previously discussed by Mytour.vn, in the Android 8.1 version, only Google Pixel and Nexus devices upgraded to Android 8.0 remain.
Following the announcement of Android 8.1 Oreo availability for supported Pixel and Nexus devices, Google also issues factory images for Nexus 5X (bullhead), Nexus 6P (angler), Pixel C (ryu), Pixel (sailfish), Pixel XL (marlin), Pixel 2 (walleye), and Pixel 2 XL (taimen).
Android 8.1 marks the initial release of Google's Android 8 Oreo mobile operating system series equipped with a Linux kernel and distributed for supported Pixel and Nexus devices mentioned above. New features on Android 8.1 Oreo
Google adds numerous new features in the Android 8.1 Oreo update for Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P devices, including Oreo resurrection egg, Google search bar placed under the dock, Quick Settings menu, and Glance widget positioned at the top corner displaying calendar and weather information.
Additionally, Android 8.1 Oreo introduces dark theme options, automatically activating on the main screen being used by the user. Essentially, Google integrates Pixel 2 experience into Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, and Nexus 6P, while also adding the option to enable the hidden image processing chip in Pixel 2 devices.
After enabling Pixel 2's Pixel Visual Core chip through a new developer option, users can capture HDR+ photos using the main camera or any photo app utilizing the Android Camera API.
Furthermore, Google is also addressing the burn-in issue on Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL screens reported by users last month.
Last but certainly not least, Android 8.1 Oreo includes all security patches previously released by Google for all supported Android 8.0 Oreo devices and the December Android Security Patch update.
Therefore, users are advised to update their Pixel or Nexus devices to Android 8.1 Oreo as soon as possible through the OTA update system or manually update by downloading the factory image.
