Introduced earlier this year, Windows Subsystem for Android allows users to access multiple Android applications directly on Windows 11 computers, although there are some technical specifications required. While the experience and library are not entirely similar to those on phones or Chromebooks because users default to using the Amazon Appstore to download Android applications instead of the Play Store, overall, this is an interesting new feature for PC users.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft has outlined the future of Windows Subsystem for Android, starting with a new update for Windows Insider users on the Dev Channel. The most notable feature of this update is Windows 11 using Android 12.1 to run applications. However, the report also emphasizes that some applications may no longer be compatible.
Other enhancements include changes to Android's network connections, allowing users to connect to local devices such as compatible speakers like Chromecast, improved mouse and keyboard support, as well as some necessary bug fixes to support cameras. Additionally, the installation app for Windows Subsystem for Android has been completely redesigned and more deeply integrated into the Windows 11 system.
