On computers using Intel x86 processors, Android Emulator will continue to use Intel HAXM by default. Intel HAXM is an open-source hypervisor solution developed by Intel. Fortunately, the fastest Android emulator on Windows still remains compatible with Intel HAXM. To download the latest version of Intel HAXM v7.2.0, you can check for the latest updates available in the Android SDK Manager.

- AMD processors: Recommended AMD® RyzenTM processors.
- Android Studio 3.2 Beta or higher: Available for download through the Android Studio Preview page.

If you want to use Hyper-V simultaneously with Android Emulator emulation on computers with Intel processors, you will need to download the listed versions of Android Emulator and Android Emulator, plus the additional requirements below:
- Enable the feature through Windows Features: 'Hyper-V': only available for Windows 10 Professional / Education / Enterprise
- Intel processors: Intel® CoreTM processors support Virtualization Technology (VT-x), Extended Page Tables (EPT), and Unrestricted Guest (UG). Additionally, VT-x must be enabled in the BIOS.
