Thought to have long cooled down under the dominance of the 'giants', the tablet market is showing signs of lively resurgence with a slew of new products from Android manufacturers with many enticing offerings set to debut.

How has the tablet market fared from 2021 to the present?

According to statistics from Strategy Analytics, tablet manufacturers introduced 45.2 million products to the market solely in Q2 2021 (a 5% increase compared to the same period last year). Apple accounted for a 35% market share equivalent to 15.82 million iPads sold. Apple's growth rate in Q2 reached 11%.

Ranked second is the tech giant Samsung with an 18% market share, equivalent to 8.2 million units sold, boasting a 19% sales growth. Its market share has increased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year thanks to the diverse product range across various segments and the Tab S7 generation featuring numerous enticing new technologies.

Apple with iPadOS and top-of-the-line hardware such as the M1 chip, performance akin to a laptop, mini-LED ProMotion display,... consistently earns high praise from professional circles for its smoothness, stability, and superior app compatibility compared to tablets from Android.

As for Android, it holds an advantage in terms of pricing and attractive configurations within the price range. If your needs are limited to web browsing, watching YouTube, and basic news reading, you can easily purchase a tablet for 4-5 million VND at Mytour.

The tablet market at the end of 2021 is predicted by Strategy Analytics to continue experiencing strong growth due to the trend of online learning and remote work. Among them, old names like Xiaomi and Lenovo have re-entered the race, alongside the 'big players' Apple, Samsung, and Huawei.

Here, I'll summarize some of the new tablet models recently launched and soon to be available for sale from authorized retailers in Vietnam!

First up are the latest iPads recently introduced by Apple in mid-September and soon to be officially available in Vietnam, namely the iPad Gen 9 and iPad mini 6.

The iPad Gen 9 still fulfills users' basic needs well. In short, there will be slight upgrades to the screen, performance, and the front camera equipped with Center Stage for improved online learning and meetings.

As for the mini 6, it's geared towards compactness, making it easy to handle. This tablet has received high praise from reviewers for its improvements in design and outstanding performance with the latest Apple A15 chip.

Next up is the Xiaomi Pad 5, set to be launched in Vietnam soon with an incredibly attractive price tag at Mytour, starting from 9 million VND for the base version.

Lastly, the tech giant Samsung is gearing up for the release of the Galaxy Tab S8 2021 series. The initial leaks suggest that the Tab S8 will have a design similar to its predecessor, the S7, and will come in three versions: Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra. Upgrades will focus on hardware and performance enhancements.

On October 6th, HMD Global will also unveil the new Nokia T20 tablet. Based on recent rumors, the T20 will feature a 10.36-inch screen, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, and will be powered by a Unisoc chip.
