It's truly prideful because wherever you go in Vietnam, you'll be welcomed by remarkable specialties and exquisite dishes. There's the capital Hanoi with its Hang Than green rice flakes, the imperial city of Hue with its spicy sour shrimp, Ho Chi Minh City with its legendary fresh spring rolls, and the Ben Tre Cai Mon durian...

Now, the quest for Vietnam's Top specialties in its first round has officially established and announced the 14 Famous Specialties of Vietnam based on the criteria of Vietnamese specialty value. This journey aims to collect, and widely introduce the top achievements that Vietnamese people have attained or have been bestowed by nature throughout our nation's history, across all sectors.
Since embarking on this journey in 2010, after two years of implementation, the Vietnam Record Center has received attention, support, and nominations from 32 provinces and cities (out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam) regarding their representative specialties... The center has officially established and announced the 14 Famous Specialties of Vietnam based on the criteria of Vietnamese specialty value, including:
1. Top 50 Famous Vietnamese Fruit Specialties
2. Top 50 Famous Vietnamese Specialty Dishes
3. Top 10 famous traditional Vietnamese gift cakes
4. Top 10 famous Vietnamese candy preserves
5. Top 10 famous Vietnamese dipping sauces and spices
6. Top 10 famous Vietnamese wines
7. Top 10 famous Vietnamese spring rolls and sausages
8. Top 10 economically valuable fruits
9. Top 10 famous natural specialties of Vietnam
10. Top 5 renowned tea specialties of Vietnam
11. Top 5 famous porridge specialties of Vietnam
12. Top 5 celebrated salad specialties of Vietnam
13. Top 5 largest wholesale fruit markets
14. Top 5 famous fish sauce specialties of Vietnam
Embark on the journey of discovering and promoting Vietnam's specialties, starting in 2012. The expedition continually updates and enriches information on the list of regional delicacies each year, publicly announced every September.

With the aim of honoring the values and showcasing Vietnam through its diverse culinary delights and regional specialties to locals and tourists alike, the Vietnam Record Center and the Vietnam News Agency Publishing House collaboratively produced the Top Vietnamese Specialties Yearbook 2012 and the 2012 Vietnam Specialty Map, guiding individuals to locations offering Vietnamese specialties. These publications are available for purchase at bookstores nationwide.
