Apple is planning to shift production of MacBook Pro assembly line from China to Vietnam (Photo: Apple Insider) Recently, Quanta has become the next component supplier for Apple to invest in a manufacturing plant in Vietnam. Quanta has signed an agreement with the Nam Dinh provincial government to build a plant in Vietnam with an investment value of up to 120 million USD.
In December last year, reports revealed that Apple is planning to shift production of MacBook Pro assembly line to Vietnam. Following the moves of Foxconn and BOE in shifting manufacturing plants to Vietnam, it seems that Quanta has also begun to join this 'shift'.
According to Reuters, Quanta has signed an agreement with the Nam Dinh provincial government last Friday to establish a factory in northern Vietnam. The project is expected to have a total investment of up to 120 million USD and will be built on a 22.5-hectare plot of land in the My Thuan industrial park.

Considering Apple's desire to expand its manufacturing in Vietnam, this new factory may be used to produce components for Apple.
Earlier, Foxconn invested in building a factory in Vietnam with a total value of up to 300 million USD in August 2022. In February 2023, Foxconn signed another agreement to lease a land area of about 449 thousand square meters until 2057 with a value of about 62.5 million USD. BOE also leased tens of hectares of land in Vietnam to build a factory with an investment of 400 million USD.
