Answer: (see more short essays under 500 words here)
Throughout the history of thousands of years of nation building and defense, the shadow of young, intelligent, and brave individuals contributing significantly to the struggle and construction of the country has never been absent from our nation's history.
The legend of the hero of the Gióng village, who at the age of three uprooted bamboo to fight invaders and save the country, initiated the glorious tradition of 'young age, great spirit' among Vietnamese youth; Trần Quốc Toản entered the history books during the period of resistance against the Yuan-Mongol invaders with courage, patriotism, and willingness to sacrifice for the nation; Kim Đồng, the first captain of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Brigade; Dương Văn Nội, Phạm Ngọc Đa - intelligent scouts with brave hearts; Lê Văn Tám - the living torch who plunged into the enemy's fuel depot; Nguyễn Bá Ngọc sacrificed himself to save his young comrades...
In particular, Vư A Dính, an ethnic Hmong, born on September 12, 1934, in Đề Chia village, Pú Nhung commune, Tuần Giáo district, Lai Châu province (now Điện Biên province), exemplifies the outstanding youth during the anti-French colonial period.
From a young age, Vư A Dính was intelligent, courageous, and quick-witted. Educated by his parents, he early on grasped the revolutionary ideology and harbored resentment towards the French invaders. At the age of 13, Vư A Dính left his family to become a liaison member of the armed forces in Tuần Giáo district. The footprints of Vư A Dính and the armed forces spread throughout the mountains, forests, and villages in the district.
Despite the hardships of the resistance, Vừ A Dính had a strong thirst for knowledge. He always carried a book in his pocket to study whenever he could. Dính became proficient in reading and writing.
In June 1949, French troops attacked the Pú Nhung base to eliminate Dính's Armed Forces Unit. On that day, Dính was on a liaison mission when he fell into an enemy ambush. He endured brutal torture in an attempt to force him to reveal the location of Viet Minh officers, but Dính only responded with two words: 'don't know'. The French soldiers, enraged, shot him in the chest and hung his body from a tall tree. That evening was June 15, 1949.
Vừ A Dính sacrificed his life at the foot of a tall oak tree in Khe Trúc, near the Bản Chăn outpost, before he even turned 15.
The life of the young liaison soldier Vừ A Dính came to an end, but his indomitable spirit in the face of the enemy shone like a beacon in the mountains of Northwest Vietnam.
In 2000, Vừ A Dính was posthumously awarded the title 'Hero of the People's Armed Forces' by the State.
Since 1951, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (today's Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union) has honored Vừ A Dính nationwide. In 1952, the Government awarded him the Third-Class Military Exploit Medal - a young liaison soldier. The history of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization and the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team recorded Vừ A Dính as one of the outstanding youths of Vietnam during the resistance against the French colonialists, contributing to the country's liberation.
In 1962, writer Tô Hoài followed eyewitnesses to document Vừ A Dính's intense sacrifice in the short story 'Vừ A Dính' (published by Kim Đồng Publishing House). Two songs, 'Immortal Vừ A Dính' (by composer Tô Hợp) and 'Vừ A Dính - the young hero' (by composer Vũ Trọng Tường), always resonate in Young Pioneer activities.
Vừ A Dính is the pride of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team and the youth of Vietnam. The name of the Hero - Martyr Vừ A Dính has been given to many Young Pioneer Teams, Brigades, and schools nationwide.
