So when can we expect updates for the remaining Mac machines? Let's explore in this article on Mytour.vn!
The M3 Mac SeriesMacBook Air M3
Currently, Apple offers three models, including two 13-inch models with M1 and M2 chips, while the other variant features a 15-inch display with an M2 chip. The question arises: When will Apple cease production of the MacBook Air M1 and replace its 13-inch and 15-inch models with new M3 devices?
It's known that the 15-inch MacBook Air was just released in June this year, while Apple introduced the 13-inch version in June 2022. This currently stands as one of Apple's oldest models in the Mac lineup and hasn't seen an update in over 480 days.
MacBook Air M3According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is actively developing both 13-inch and 15-inch models of the MacBook Air M3. Both are expected to debut in the first half of 2024, having reached the engineering validation testing (EVT) phase, the initial production testing on prototype devices. These laptops will feature the M3 chip with CPU and GPU core counts similar to the recently launched 14-inch model.
Gurman indicates that the next-generation MacBook Air is anticipated to be unveiled as early as mid-spring to early summer next year.
Mac Mini
Apple announced the Mac mini M2 and M2 Pro models in January this year, but there are hints that Apple may have been testing a Mac mini M3, according to information shared by journalist Mark Gurman.
Mac Mini M3In August this year, signs of an unidentified Mac '15,12' were found in developer code. It features an 8-core CPU (including 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU, and 24GB of RAM. Although the exact name of this Mac is undisclosed, Gurman reveals it to be the next-generation Mac mini.
Gurman previously mentioned he didn't expect the M3 chip version of the Mac mini to launch until late 2024. However, as it is currently in testing, it might make an appearance sooner than anticipated.
Mac Studio, Mac Pro
Apple updated Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M2 series chips in June this year. The Mac Studio models come with either M2 Max or M2 Ultra chips, while the Mac Pro utilizes the M2 Ultra.
Mac Studio, Mac ProBoth Mac machines are considered to be in the middle of their product cycles, with no reliable rumors yet about when the more powerful M3 version of either machine will be unveiled. However, if Apple stays committed to an annual upgrade cycle, we might see them around June 2024.
MacBook Pro 13 inch
Apple ceased production of the M2 with Touch Bar and replaced it with the 14-inch model equipped with the next-generation M3 chip.
MacBook Pro 13 inchApple states that the MacBook Pro 14 inch M3 is up to 60% faster than the MacBook Pro 13 inch with the M1 chip. The MacBook Pro 14 inch M3 also comes with several improvements that make it worth upgrading for anyone who owns the MacBook Pro 13 inch M1. Hence, it seems like this product line has been discontinued by the company.
