Ao Dai Museum: District 9's Hidden Gem Resembling a Small Hoi An
The Birth of Ao Dai Museum stems from the creative efforts and vision of artist and designer Sy Hoang, spanning over a decade, on the grounds of Long Thuan Garden. As a private museum, it embraces traditional architecture with serene, meditative hues.

Nurturing the idea of an Ao Dai Museum for a decade, artist and designer Sy Hoang brought to life a museum aimed at honoring Vietnamese heritage and providing detailed insight into the Vietnamese national dress. The project was inaugurated on January 22, 2014. It stands as the 12th museum in Ho Chi Minh City and one of only two private museums in the city.

The exhibition space spans approximately 200 square meters, showcasing around 150 Ao Dai designs, housed in a longhouse-style setting with wooden frames and tiled roofs.

Visitors to the Ao Dai Museum will have the opportunity to explore the origins and development of the Ao Dai through each historical period. The Ao Dai exhibits are arranged chronologically: from the four-panel Ao Dai of the 17th century to the royal Ao Dai of the Nguyen dynasty in the 19th century.

Entrance fee: 50k for adults. If you are a student, remember to bring your student ID card for a discounted entrance fee of only 30k.
