The Elec notes that Samsung is now slated to initiate OLED panel production in May, shifting from the initially scheduled June, to compensate for the shortage stemming from BOE's initial order complications. The Chinese company is currently grappling with light leakage problems around the OLED section where the notch and cutouts are located.

Previously, Apple had contracted BOE to manufacture OLED panels for the standard iPhone 15 model. However, the issues proved severe enough to prompt the cancellation of the order. This compelled Samsung to kickstart early production to make up for the deficient OLED panel supply.
The iPhone 15 standard and models are anticipated to employ low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) thin-film transistors (TFT). This means these models won't support ProMotion and features like AOD found in the Pro series. Meanwhile, LG Display is set to commence the production of LTPO TFT OLED panels for the higher-end iPhone 15 Pro models in June.
Following tradition, Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhone 15 series in September this year. Anticipate significant upgrades compared to the previous generation. Let's stay tuned for more updates!
