The sudden disappearance of certain movie files from the iTunes library has left users frustrated, suspecting that Apple may be deleting purchased movies intentionally. However, a recent CNET report reveals insights into prominent content, specifically movies in the iTunes library, including geographical restrictions and limitations when users travel or move to a new area or country.
Apple comments on the issue of iTunes users losing movie files
Accordingly, some movies purchased on the iTunes library may only be available in the user's residing region but restricted in certain other countries. Responding to CNET, Apple stated: 'Movies that users have purchased and downloaded will not be deleted unless the user chooses to delete them.' 'If users travel or move to a new region or country, some geographically restricted movies will not be available in that country. Users can restore the country and region settings if they wish to redownload these movies,' said Apple.
So, Apple won't delete any movies from the user's library. The downside is that some downloaded content may be lost when users move or travel to certain new countries and regions.
Although Apple suggests that users can set back to the old country or region to regain access to lost content, some users report this as impractical because they no longer have a payment address in the old country. All users can do now is wait for Apple to provide a solution to this issue.
