Valve's Steam Link allows users to stream games from their Steam library to their phones and other supported devices like Mac or PC and some other devices.
Apple quietly updates App Store policy
Finally, Apple has realized that change is inevitable. Policies from 5 years ago are no longer relevant. Policies for services like Steam and mobile apps are no longer applicable, so the company had to adopt new policies.
The ideal policy is that Apple doesn't allow any app to be brought to the App Store if the app is already available on another store. Technically, this policy aligns perfectly with Steam. However, according to Reuters, the new policies implemented by Apple apply to users who purchase apps, conduct transactions on computers rather than on iPhones or iPads.
With Apple's change in App Store policy, sooner or later Steam Link will once again be brought to the App Store, the only question is when.
Android users can now experience Steam Link for Android here.
With this move from the Cupertino giant, it's easy to see that Apple is willing to adjust its policies to align with market practices.
