Apple's new generation MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips were expected to hit the market in early 2023, but these laptops may face further delays, according to DigiTimes.
The report does not provide a new release timeframe for the upcoming MacBook Pro. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said Apple plans to release the premium laptops in the first half of this year and noted that they will have designs and features similar to current models, but with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. Gurman said those chips will only bring small performance improvements over M1 Pro and M1 Max.

Based on Gurman's latest timeline of the first half of 2023, the new MacBook Pro will finally be released at Apple's WWDC 2023 annual developer conference in late June, but hopes are for an earlier release.
Apple's chip manufacturing partner TSMC has begun mass production of 3nm chips at the end of December, but there are still many conflicts over whether the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will be based on the 3nm process or still on 5nm like the M1 Pro and M1 Max.

The report reveals that Apple's adjustment of shipment ratios by adding Wingtech as a MacBook assembler is the main reason for the significant decline.
