Apple discontinues production of MacBook Pro 13-inch with Touch Bar

Currently, the 13-inch model is no longer available for purchase through Apple's stores, with the Pro tab only offering 14-inch and 16-inch models.

It's known that the MacBook Pro 13-inch is Apple's last Mac to feature the Touch Bar, so the discontinuation of this laptop also marks the official end of the Touch Bar. The Touch Bar has been a controversial feature on MacBooks for many years. When first introduced, this feature was expected to help Apple set a new standard for laptop design.

However, over time, fewer applications paid attention to optimizing for the Touch Bar, while fewer users found it appealing to use. Some argue that the touch-sensitive buttons on the Touch Bar are inconvenient and much harder to use compared to physical keys.

Apple's MacBook Pro 13-inch M2 is priced at $1,299, which is $100 more expensive than the 13-inch model with similar specs. Meanwhile, the price of the new 14-inch model starts from $1,599, indicating that the MacBook Air M2 will be the only affordable option for those seeking a budget-friendly laptop at the moment.

The MacBook Pro 13-inch will still be available at Apple's refurbished stores and from retailers until supplies last.
