Apple has sent out invitations for the event unveiling the next-generation iPhone.
Apple has recently sent out invitations for an event to launch the 2018 model of the iPhone. The invitations state that the event will take place on September 12th at the Steve Jobs Theater, located on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
According to Apple's product release cycle, this year's new iPhone generation will focus on performance upgrades and enhancing user experiences rather than significant design changes.
Previous leaks suggest that both the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models will feature a dual 12 MP camera setup with optical image stabilization (OIS). The more affordable 6.1-inch iPhone will have a single 12 MP camera, similar to the iPhone 8. Apple plans to improve image processing algorithms to enhance the image quality of the trio of iPhones in 2018. According to Bloomberg, Apple is rumored to release three iPhone models, including an upgraded version of the iPhone X with a 5.8-inch OLED display, an iPhone X Plus with a 6.5-inch OLED display, and a 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD display. All three devices will be equipped with the latest A12 processor.
Additionally, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus will come in three different color options, while the 6.1-inch iPhone with an LCD display will offer up to five color choices.
Furthermore, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the larger 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch iPhone models will be available with either single or dual SIM options depending on the market. In contrast, the 5.8-inch iPhone XS will be sold with a single SIM slot, and the electronic SIM (eSIM) will be disabled.
Moreover, at the event, Apple might introduce the next generation of iPad Pro or an upgraded version of the wireless AirPod headphones.
