Gurman discussed details in the latest 'Power On' newsletter. He explained that the new Mac Studio could potentially feature an unannounced fourth variant of the M3 chip. This M3 Ultra chip would double the number of components compared to the 'Max' version, meaning it could have up to 32 CPU cores and 80 GPU cores.
Apple is actively developing the next-gen Mac Studio and Mac ProThe Taiwanese research firm TrendForce previously also suggested that Apple will unveil a new Mac Studio equipped with the M3 Ultra chip at WWDC in June, similar to what they did with the Mac Studio M2 Max and M2 Ultra last year.
Gurman also believes that, contrary to suggestions from last week, Apple may refresh the Mac Pro with this new high-end chip, promising professional users an extremely powerful workstation.
