Apple is developing a new external display for Mac computers

In the latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman reveals that Apple seems to be working on a new external display for Mac computers.

An interesting aspect is that this product can function as a smart indoor screen in low-power mode.

Apple is also exploring other screen options, possibly aiming to directly succeed the Pro Display XDR.

The new smart screen will be powered by iOS device chips, which isn't surprising as the Studio Display currently uses an A13 chip inside.

However, on the Studio Display, software support only extends to certain features like the system of speakers with functionalities such as Center Stage and Spatial Audio.

Therefore, the introduction of a new external display for Macs that can function as a smart screen in low-power mode holds the promise of significantly enhancing the user experience. Hopefully, in the near future, we will see more information about this product emerging on various websites.
