According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is considering adding Face ID feature to the next iMac model. Therefore, it's highly likely that one of the features Apple will equip on the upcoming iMac M1 screen is Face ID.
Previously, there were numerous rumors circulating about the addition of Face ID feature to Mac products. In 2020, Filipe Espósito revealed in an exclusive news that Apple's macOS Big Sur beta had already supported facial recognition feature for Mac products.
Specifically, the article shared that there was a new feature in the macOS Big Sur beta version 3 with the codename “PearlCamera”. This was the internal codename Apple used for TrueDepth camera and Face ID previously, first unveiled on the iPhone X in 2017.

Other codes like “FaceDetect” and “BioCapture” found in the extensions also indicate that Apple is preparing a new macOS with Face ID feature. These codes are similar to ones used in previous OS versions. Therefore, Face ID feature will be equipped on the upcoming macOS.
This information has been corroborated by Mark Gurman on Bloomberg's Power On newsletter. Specifically, the article revealed that the potential for Face ID display was present inside the iMac M1 from the beginning but not on the MacBook. Since the iMac is a thick screen capable of integration while the MacBook's screen is relatively thin.

However, Apple did not introduce this feature on the iMac last year. Therefore, Gurman suggests not to expect this Face ID feature to appear soon on the MacBook, and it is highly likely that a screen supporting this Face ID feature will be launched in the future.
Currently, Apple is rumored to be developing a new integrated processor computer screen. Thus, there will soon be a 27-inch iMac released this year, and it's highly possible that it will be a new iMac Pro.
Excited for the Face ID feature to debut on iMac, aren't you?
