A recent source revealed that Apple has plans to release 5 different models of Mac machines next year, including new iMac, redesigned Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and two versions of MacBook Pro. Particularly, these devices will be equipped with Apple Silicon M2 chips.
Mark Gurman recently provided new information about Apple's 2022 Mac lineup plans. According to Gurman, Apple will introduce up to 5 new models of Mac machines next year, all of which will be equipped with Apple M2 and M1X chips.
Last year, Apple transitioned to using Apple M1 chips in its Mac machines replacing Intel chips. However, Apple still continues to sell models running on Intel chips like the 2020 iMac. The emergence of devices equipped with new M2 chips could mark a breakthrough and direct competition with Intel hardware.
Gurman also mentioned that Apple plans to release two different models of MacBook Pro. The highest-end model may come with a powerful M1X processor, while the lower-end model will be equipped with M2 chip or its variant.
