This implies that new budget-friendly iPad models may debut next year.
Apple will update its entire iPad lineup next yearIn his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman mentioned: 'Apple may have attempted to launch more new products, but improved iPads and AirPods are still not ready. The company plans to upgrade its entire iPad lineup in 2024. New budget-friendly AirPods will also launch next year, with a refreshed AirPods Pro model set to debut in 2025.'
2023 is projected to be the first year without any new iPads released since Apple introduced the device in 2010, so updates for all models are possible next year. Below are the last update dates for each iPad model:
- iPad Pro: October 2022
- iPad: October 2022
- iPad Air: March 2022
- iPad mini: September 2021
Gurman previously reported that budget to mid-range iPads could be updated as early as March 2024, while he anticipates new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Pro models with M3 chips and OLEDs to debut in the first half of 2024. The next-generation iPad Air and iPad mini may be equipped with M2 and A16 Bionic chips respectively.
