After a prolonged period of anticipation, Apple Pay is now officially supported in Vietnam as of today (8/8).
This means that iPhone and Apple Watch users in Vietnam can directly pay for services at stores without the need for credit cards or ATM cards.

Rumors about the support of Apple Pay in Vietnam first emerged in July, and some banks have been collaborating to support the payment service. With Apple Pay, iPhone and Apple Watch owners in Vietnam can conduct contactless payments at retail outlets that offer this feature. Many major banks in Vietnam such as Techcombank, Sacombank,... have facilitated adding credit cards, debit cards to Apple Pay.
It's known that Apple Pay is a mobile payment service that has been deployed in the US since October 2014. Instead of swiping credit cards, ATM cards, users only need to place their iPhone and Apple Watch near the payment terminal at supermarkets, stores, restaurants, etc. In Vietnam, Apple Pay can be used for payments at VinMart, Phuc Long, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Highlands Coffee, CGV Cinemas, and more.
Apple has been working to expand the availability of Apple Pay. This feature can now be used in over 75 countries while collaborating with over 10,000 banking partners worldwide at the moment. Additionally, it is anticipated to continue rolling out in other new countries in the near future as 'Apple' establishes new transactions.
