Unfortunately, Apple has not disclosed what changes they have brought to the new software update for AirTag. It is likely that this update focuses on fixing lingering bugs and improving device performance.
Apple AirTagAdditionally, today's firmware release will be rolled out in stages. One percent of users will receive the update today, and then it will expand to 10 percent of users on November 7. On November 14, an additional 25 percent of users will see the update, and then it will be available to everyone on November 28.
Users also cannot update AirTag software manually as it is done over the network through a connected iPhone. To ensure the update process takes place, you may place your AirTag within range of your iPhone's connection, but you must wait for the deployment program on your device. You can check your current AirTag base program version through the Find My app.
