Among the new features brought to iOS 15.1 by Apple, the most notable is SharePlay, a feature that was absent from the official iOS 15 release.
The iOS 15.1 update adds SharePlay functionality and camera enhancements.
True to its name, SharePlay provides users with shared experiences during FaceTime calls, allowing them to browse the web together, watch movies or TV shows, and more—all synchronized for content sharing on Apple Music, Apple Fitness +, Apple TV, and other App Store apps. Additionally, users are provided with options to play, pause, replay, or fast forward movies or music, as well as an option to automatically lower the volume of content when someone is speaking.
In addition to SharePlay, iOS 15.1 also includes a range of other useful features such as ProRes video recording for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The toggle switch to automatically switch to macro mode allows users to have more control over how they use the camera.
Now users can add their COVID-19 vaccination card to the Apple Wallet app. Enhancements to the Home app allow users to automate various actions based on air quality sensors, humidity, or surrounding light using Homekit. The translation app now supports Taiwanese Mandarin. Additionally, there are some other bug fixes.
