Perhaps one of the most notable changes in the Clips 3.0 update is the support for multiple frame rates. The app can now capture iPhone screen videos in 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios in addition to the square aspect ratio previously available. All these frame rates are available for both portrait and landscape video recording modes.
Various frame rates, HDR video recording have been incorporated into Apple's Clips app
On iPhone, the app automatically opens your video in a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the 4:3 ratio is the default on iPad. Additionally, you can record videos with filters, posters, Live Titles, and Selfie Scenes in new sizes. The Share Sheet feature has also been updated, now displaying a preview version of the video before sending, and offering new export options in any supported size if you wish to share a video with friends.
The redesigned interface of Clips for iPadOS supports the new Scribble feature to convert handwritten text into typed text. You can also record and edit videos horizontally, with support from the Magic Keyboard and mouse or Bluetooth keyboard.
With the new interface, the app now allows you to swipe up to open full-screen view of all filters, stickers, emojis, and other effects. There's also a refreshed video recording screen and now you can view more content with the new Effects, Media, and Projects browsers. Additionally, there are 8 stickers, 6 arrows and shapes, along with 25 new music tracks customizable to the video duration.
Finally, users can shoot HDR video with the rear camera of iPhone 12 series and share clips as Dolby Vision HDR files. The Clips 3.0 update is now available on the App Store.
