Today Apple announced its plan to launch the new Tap to Pay feature on iPhone, allowing iPhone compatibility and acceptance of payments via Apple Pay, credit cards, and debit cards without contact as well as other e-wallets without requiring additional hardware.

The tech giant from Cupertino stated that this new feature will debut in the United States later this year and enable merchants to accept contactless NFC payments through supported iOS apps on iPhone XS and above. Merchants only need to prompt customers to hold their iPhone or Apple Watch, contactless credit or debit cards, or other e-wallets near the merchant's iPhone for the payment to be securely completed using NFC technology.
