Apple unveils iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus: USB-C is finally here

This duo boasts upgraded performance, Dynamic Island, and notably, a completely new USB-C charging port.

Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively. However, Apple states that the maximum brightness can now reach up to 2000 nits.

The finishing touches have been upgraded with colors seamlessly integrated into the glass, creating impressive color finish layers. The iPhone 15 comes in color options including pink, gold, green, blue, and black.

Apple has also upgraded the system. The rear camera system of the iPhone 15 now includes a 48MP main sensor, similar to last year's lineup. The 48MP sensor has optical zoom emulation modes of 1x and 2x, alongside a 0.5x ultra-wide lens.

Portrait mode has also been enhanced. Apple states that portrait photos in low light conditions will be better. Portrait mode also activates automatically when capturing subjects in the main camera mode. You can also adjust the focus point after taking the photo, as Apple retains depth maps along with image data to create a natural background blur effect after capture.

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus come equipped with the A16 Bionic chip, previously seen in the Pro models. The A16 chip features six CPU cores and five GPU cores.

The iPhone 15 is rated to have similar battery life to the iPhone 15, but the iPhone 15 Plus will have longer usage time thanks to a larger battery capacity. You can charge the iPhone 15 using the new USB-C port.

The iPhone 15 also features a second-generation Ultra-Wideband chip to improve location accuracy. You can also directly navigate to a person through the Precision Finding feature, not just with items tagged with AirTags.

Apple is expanding its emergency rescue feature via satellite to cater to roadside assistance situations. In the U.S., this emergency rescue feature will be provided to AAA members. The emergency rescue feature will offer complimentary service for two years from the purchase of the iPhone 15.

The iPhone 15 will have a starting price from 799 USD (approximately 19.3 million VND), while the Plus version will start from 899 USD (approximately 21.7 million VND) in the U.S. market.
