Firstly, all components of the new chip utilize 3nm for enhanced efficiency. The next-gen GPU marks a significant leap in graphics architecture for Apple Silicon, featuring a groundbreaking architecture called Dynamic Caching.

In the next-gen GPU, local memory is dynamically allocated by hardware in real-time, leading to more efficient operation. The new GPU also supports ray tracing.
In terms of configuration, Apple M3 still sports 8 cores with 4 high-performance cores and 4 energy-efficient cores for 35% higher performance than M1 and 20% than M2. The GPU offers two options: 8 cores (only available on the 24-inch M3) and 10 cores with a new architecture for 65% higher performance than M1 and 20% than M2. Apple M3 supports up to 24GB memory.

Apple claims that the performance of M3 Pro increases by 20% compared to M1 Pro, almost no stronger than M2 Pro. The GPU of M3 Pro has a maximum of 18 cores, 1 core less than M2 Pro, but still delivers about 10% higher performance thanks to the new architecture. M3 Pro supports up to 36GB of unified memory. Additionally, M3 Pro also introduces versions with 11-core GPU and 14-core GPU.

Specifically, the M3 Max features 16 cores with a 12+4 configuration for up to 50% higher performance than M2 Max. The GPU with up to 40 cores also offers up to 20% higher performance than M2 Max and supports up to 128GB of unified memory. Furthermore, the M3 Max also offers versions with 14-core CPU and 30-core GPU.

Compared to using a 12-core CPU (likely the Intel P-series), Apple M3 only consumes 1/4 of the energy, and the GPU consumes only 1/5 of the energy while still delivering equivalent performance. As a result, devices equipped with this CPU achieve up to 22 hours of battery life and maintain performance even when charging.
