Although the initial 13-inch model with the M2 chip only supported Bluetooth 5.0 upon its release in July 2022, this laptop now features enhanced support for the faster and more reliable Bluetooth 5.3, according to Apple's technical specifications.

In response, Apple has updated the technical specifications of the 13-inch Air to include Bluetooth 5.3 support, a standard connection witnessed on the MacBook Air 15-inch model introduced at the WWDC 2023 event. The new Bluetooth connectivity ensures faster and more reliable connections with Bluetooth accessories, while also improving energy efficiency, contributing to extended battery life.
All Mac models released since September 2022, including the latest additions, now support Bluetooth 5.3, as well as the second-generation AirPods Pro.
Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are constrained to Wi-Fi 6, while other new Mac devices support Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless connections on the 6GHz band.
