This aquatic barrier also serves as a habitat for over 1000 species of fish, including octopuses.
Mehmet Ali Gökçeoğlu, a successful entrepreneur and engineer from Turkey, has erected the most magnificent barrier in the world outside his luxurious villa in Çeşme, Izmir city.

Eight years ago, he replaced the metal barrier in front of his villa with a 50m-long fish tank containing hundreds of fish species and octopuses.
Constructing the transparent fish tank structure was relatively straightforward. He also designed a 400m-long pipeline connecting the barrier to the Aegean Sea, allowing water to be continuously replenished to keep the fish pond clean. Gökçeoğlu hired a team of divers to carry out this task, costing him $21,000.
According to the owner of this design, the villa, just a few minutes' walk from the Aegean coast, has become one of the most famous tourist destinations in Çeşme, attracting up to a thousand visitors per day in the summer. He shared that just by observing the thousands of people who come to admire this unique creation, one can understand its value. Over 1000 fish species have been living in this artificial 'sea' since 2005.
To ensure security, the owner has installed 17 cameras outside the house equipped with facial recognition technology to ensure that no one can steal any fish or cause any damage to this unique fence.
