Just a few hours left now, Apple will hold the Unleashed event expected to unveil the next generation MacBook Pro devices. It's known that the new Mac models will be equipped with a completely new processor developed by Apple Silicon.
Updated on October 19: Apple has unveiled its new MacBook Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, featuring a rabbit ear design and outstanding performance (see details).
Accordingly, this new processor is known to be an upgrade version of the M1 chip and has been referred to as M1X for the past few months. However, according to a recent report from Mark Gurman revealed in the Power On newsletter, Apple will call these chips M1 Pro and M1 Max.

Specifically, the Apple M1 Pro may come with a 16-core GPU while the Apple M1 Max is rumored to have a 32-core GPU. Additionally, there are some sources suggesting that Apple M2 - the successor to M1 processor will be unveiled in 2022 on the next generation MacBook Air.
Regarding the specifications of the new MacBook Pro, the device will come in 2 different screen sizes: 14 inches and 16 inches, expected to be paired with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage. Moreover, the product will feature a Mini-LED display along with ultra-thin bezels.
What's unique is that this year's MacBook Pro will come with the new MacSafe charging port. But that's not all; Apple is also reportedly testing 120 Hz displays for the MacBook lineup, although there's no confirmation yet on which device will support it.
