Since ancient times, the desire for happiness has become instinctual, an inherent attribute in every individual. In the Declaration of Independence, President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed on September 2, 1945: 'All men are created equal. They are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights; among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.' Why do humans yearn for happiness, wanting to live in happiness? Because happiness brings satisfaction and contentment to daily life, alleviating the pains and exhaustion of society. Particularly, happiness has an incredible spreading capability: 'The happiest people are those who bring happiness to others'.
Happiness is a concept so broad and abstract that few can fully define it. Especially for each individual, happiness takes on entirely different forms. Some believe happiness must entail a life filled with material possessions, good food, and fine clothing; others think happiness means simply living and sacrificing for those they care about without expecting anything in return. There are also those who find happiness in small things, in a quiet, serene life with little commotion,... Yet, ultimately, happiness is the satisfaction of the soul, the contentment with the life one leads. Importantly, happiness is not something to be grasped selfishly; true happiness must arise from a heart inclined towards goodness, a soul that knows how to share. It must be felt and shared with others.
Explaining why Diogenes believed, 'The happiest people are those who bring happiness to others,' I believe if a person lives only for themselves, paying no attention to and sharing with those around them, that is an incomplete life. Living must be harmonious, loving, only then can one fully appreciate the beautiful flavors of life; only then can life truly be happy. I firmly believe that an individual can make many others happy, giving without expecting to receive, are people with generous hearts. Their happiness is not solely confined to trivial desires like food, clothing, and money, but it is the happiness of society, the desire to contribute, to dedicate one's strength to building joy, and, importantly, happiness for others. Their great hearts also belong to the happiest people, and their happiness lies in the accumulation of creating happiness for others. President Ho Chi Minh once said: 'I only have one desire, an ultimate desire: to see our country fully independent, our people fully free, everyone having food, clothes, everyone having an education.' That is the happiness that Uncle Ho pursued throughout his 79 springs of life, gradually becoming a lofty ideal, a bright example that everyone wants to follow. Another example, I think, are the teachers who stand at the lectern every day, imparting knowledge to their beloved students. They are truly happy people, loving and dedicated educators.
