
The pandemic situation in Vietnam appears to be stabilizing as major outbreaks have been controlled. Most new cases reported in the past 2 days are from isolated areas. However, there are still new cases with a history of travel and contact with many people, making contact tracing and containment efforts challenging. An example is the new case detected in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam has now surpassed the 2,000 case mark with an additional 16 new cases reported in the Hai Duong outbreak, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,001.
Vietnam Situation
This morning, there are 4 new community cases. Among them, 3 cases are in Hai Duong and 1 case is in Gia Lai, all of whom have been under quarantine. Tonight, we have an additional 16 new cases in the Hai Duong outbreak cluster.
Last night, Ho Chi Minh City completed testing for 1,000 employees at Tan Son Nhat Airport, including F1 and F2 contacts of infected staff. The epidemic prevention measures at the airport have been elevated to the highest level.
The Ho Chi Minh City CDC urgently calls for people who visited Hospital 175 from February 3rd to February 5th as a COVID-positive patient had visited the hospital twice. The younger brother of patients 1,979 and 1,980 has tested negative for the virus on the first test.
