The iconic duo of Pokémon - Ash Ketchum and his loyal companion Pikachu - will depart from the show after a remarkable 25-year journey.
The conclusion of these two characters comes as Ash Ketchum fulfills his dream of becoming the 'greatest Pokémon Master of all time' and attaining the status of the world's top Pokémon trainer.

The upcoming series, set to premiere worldwide in 2023 following the conclusion of 'Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series,' will follow the adventures of two new main characters, Liko and Roy, while introducing Paldea region's starter Pokémon - Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
'Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series' will wrap up with 11 special episodes, starting from January 13th, commemorating Ash's long journey to become the top Pokémon trainer. The upcoming episodes will feature beloved characters and give viewers a glimpse into Ash and Pikachu's future. Some familiar faces making a return, as revealed in the new trailer, include Brock, Misty, Gary, Team Rocket, and some of Ash's most famous Pokémon.
A collection of special episodes will be released to celebrate the adventures of Ash and Pikachu together. The show's producers have stated that they will 'provide a glimpse into what the future may hold' for Ash, but it will serve as the 'final chapter' for the duo.
Producers have announced that the next installment will 'embody everything fans love about Pokémon animation, including action, adventure, friendship, and Pokémon themselves.'

Sarah Natochenny expressed feeling 'an extraordinary privilege' to have voiced the English version of Ketchum and other characters since 2006.
'Whatever lies beyond his final chapter, he will live on in the hearts of many generations to come' - she wrote on Twitter - 'I'll keep him present for all of us in every way possible.'
The long-running television program is accompanied by dozens of electronic games, including the mobile game Pokemon GO, using augmented reality to allow users to 'catch' Pokemon indoors and on the streets.
