In addition, OPPO Reno8 5G comes with 8 GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking. Of course, the new OPPO phone also supports RAM expansion, similar to its predecessor, with a maximum capacity of 5 GB. This means the device will have a total of 13 GB RAM.

In this section, we will use specialized performance benchmarking software such as GeekBench 5, 3Dmark, and PCMark to score OPPO Reno8 5G. The conditions for scoring are as follows:

• The device must have a battery level between 90% and 100% (battery below 90% may affect the device's performance and results).
• No simultaneous charging and benchmarking.
• Perform 3 consecutive benchmarks and take the average result after the 3 sessions.

Firstly, in GeekBench 5 and PCMark benchmarks, the results are highly impressive and suitable for a smartphone in the upper mid-range segment. The specific scores are as follows:

Additionally, the temperature and battery life remained stable throughout the test, with only a 1-degree Celsius increase in temperature (from 34°C to 35°C) and the battery maintaining at 96%. This indicates that OPPO has optimized the performance of the Dimensity 1300 chip exceptionally well, providing users with confidence in using Reno8 5G for extended periods.

Finally, let's conduct the most challenging test in this section, the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. For those who may have forgotten, this test will automatically repeat the scoring process 20 times to assess the stability of a smartphone during prolonged heavy tasks (such as video editing, gaming, etc.). I'm pleasantly surprised by the results, as the Reno8 5G exhibits an extremely high stability level, almost perfect, with a score of 99.4%. However, the device tends to heat up quickly after completing the test (increasing by 13 degrees, from 34°C to 47°C), possibly indicating that Dimensity hasn't been perfectly optimized for the application. Moreover, the phone experiences a relatively significant drop in battery life, specifically 12% (from 95% to 83%).

Summing up the performance scoring section, I evaluate the OPPO Reno8 5G as a smartphone with highly impressive results in the near-flagship segment. OPPO Reno8 5G delivers seamless gaming without stuttering or lag

For this gaming test, I've selected four currently popular games: Arena of Valor, Play Together, PUBG Mobile, and Call of Duty Mobile. Additionally, during the gaming experience, I've activated the gamer mode to unleash the full performance of OPPO Reno8 5G.

Firstly, we dive into the national MOBA game - Arena of Valor. For a basic game that virtually any device can handle, I confidently set the graphics to the highest level to experience visually stunning gameplay on OPPO Reno8 5G.

For a powerhouse like the Dimensity 1300 in OPPO Reno8 5G, the game Arena of Valor is an effortless challenge to overcome. The device provides an extremely smooth gaming experience, with no lag or FPS drops encountered. • PUBG Mobile

Next up is the popular shooting game PUBG Mobile, a game that challenges many devices due to its large graphics data. I enjoy exploring the landscapes in games, so I decided to set the graphics to HDR (the highest OPPO Reno8 5G can achieve) but reduced the frame rate to Ultra. However, you can also set the frame rate to Extreme (60 FPS) for a smoother gaming experience, but the graphics will be reduced to Smooth.

After adjusting the graphics settings, I could play this game smoothly with a frame rate of up to 30 FPS. During gameplay, character control and aiming were executed very well on OPPO Reno8 5G, and I felt almost no latency. I'm very satisfied with the PUBG Mobile gaming experience on this device!

• Call Of Duty Mobile 

​Next up in today's lineup is Call Of Duty Mobile. This is a fast-paced shooting game that demands continuous and precise player actions. In this game, I can set the graphics to Very High with a frame rate of Maximum.

After playing a few rounds of Call Of Duty with OPPO Reno8 5G, I noticed that the device provides an extremely smooth gaming experience. This smartphone also offers quick response speeds when performing actions such as weapon switching, movement, running, jumping, sliding, etc. Especially during intense combat, there is no lag whatsoever, with an average frame rate of 59.7 FPS.

• Genshin Impact​

The last game on the list is Genshin Impact, the heaviest game that even top-tier flagship devices struggle with. That's why I adjusted the in-game graphics to the most suitable level for OPPO Reno8 5G, and you can refer to the image below for the settings.

The results were a bit surprising, with OPPO Reno8 5G maintaining a relatively stable frame rate at 29.3 FPS in Genshin Impact. Typically, when playing Genshin Impact on some other high-end or flagship Android smartphones, the experience is not as stable as on OPPO Reno8 5G. In terms of in-game visuals, there's nothing to complain about—clearly reproduced details, vibrant colors, and smooth execution of skill effects.

Summing up the gaming experience, I highly appreciate the Dimensity 1300 chip on OPPO Reno8 5G, as it can handle most popular games today, including the demanding Genshin Impact, while providing a smooth experience. I also have to commend OPPO for optimizing both hardware and software on this year's Reno series. Additionally, OPPO Reno8 5G's square frame and matte back provide a secure grip, reducing fingerprints and sweat during intense combat situations (as I tend to sweat when under pressure).

How long can OPPO Reno8 5G's 4,500 mAh battery last during gaming?

To answer the question above, I conducted a battery test on OPPO Reno8 5G under specific conditions as follows:

• Played a single game until the device ran out of battery (from 100% to 0%).
• Screen brightness set to 100%, with a 90 Hz refresh rate.
• Continuous use of wired earphones with volume at 100%.
• Enabled Wi-Fi and received social media notifications.
• Disabled battery-saving mode, game assistance, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth.
• Tested from 100% battery, unplugged until 0%.

The results are as follows:

• Liên Quân Mobile: 12 hours 54 minutes.
• Call Of Duty Mobile: 8 hours 30 minutes.
• PUBG Mobile: 13 hours 29 minutes.
• Genshin Impact: 8 hours 46 minutes.

You can see that all the games can run continuously for 8 hours on OPPO Reno8 5G, with the most notable being Liên Quân Mobile and PUBG Mobile, both offering an impressive average playtime of over 12 hours. It seems that the graphics settings I applied for these two games are quite optimized. Therefore, the results are somewhat superior to the other two games.

This usage duration is surprisingly good for a 4,500 mAh battery. Although these figures are for reference only, they confirm that OPPO has optimized both hardware and software, providing long-lasting device usage for entertainment and study. What about regular tasks like gaming, Facebook, YouTube, etc.? Let's find out!

For a more realistic view of OPPO Reno8 5G's battery life, I conducted a comprehensive test with various continuous tasks. The specific conditions for this test are as follows:

• Experience 4 rotating tasks: Play Liên Quân Mobile (graphics settings as in the gaming test), watch YouTube, browse Facebook, and use Chrome.
• Alternate use of each task for 1 hour.
• Screen brightness at 100% and high refresh rate at 90 Hz.
• Continuous use of wired headphones with volume at 100%.
• Turn on WiFi and social media notifications.
• Turn off power-saving mode, adaptive display, GPS, and Bluetooth.
• Record from 100% to 0% battery.

The results I obtained are:

Even if the device runs out of battery faster than expected, Reno8 5G supports fast charging with a power of up to 80W, allowing you to save time charging the phone and quickly return to gaming. In the price range under 15 million VND, having fast charging with such high power is a feature not every smartphone possesses. According to the results, OPPO Reno8 5G can charge from 0 to 100% in just 29 minutes.
