In terms of performance, Xiaomi 14 is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor - Qualcomm's flagship chip at the current moment. Specifically, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is manufactured on a 4nm process with 8 cores clocked up to 3.3 GHz. Therefore, basic tasks like calling, watching movies, or more demanding activities like heavy gaming, video editing are smoothly handled by Xiaomi 14.

In addition, Xiaomi 14 is equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. I believe these are impressive numbers for a flagship like Xiaomi 14, allowing users to multitask and store data freely.
Let's Evaluate Xiaomi 14's Performance!
To assess the performance provided by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in Xiaomi 14, I will evaluate the device using specialized software such as GeekBench 6, 3DMark, and PCMark. The conditions for evaluation are as follows:
- The device's battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect device performance and results).
- Do not charge the battery while evaluating.
- Evaluate 3 times consecutively and take the average result after 3 evaluations.

Firstly, GeekBench 6 and PCMark software, Xiaomi 14 achieved the following results:
- Single-core/multi-core: 2,125 points/6,034 points.
- GPU Compute (OpenCL): 14,006 points.
- PCMark: 14,601.
As you can see in the image below, Xiaomi 14 performed excellently in both GeekBench 6 and PCMark tests. These scores demonstrate that the device can handle basic tasks we commonly use on phones, including calling, texting, web browsing, social media, watching videos, taking photos, etc.

Let's move on to a light graphics test called 3DMark Solar Bay. Through the image below, Xiaomi 14 achieved a total score of 7,339 points with an average FPS of 27.91, very impressive figures compared to some competitors in the same segment. After completing the 3DMark Solar Bay test, I noticed a slight change in both the device's temperature and battery level (battery decreased from 93% to 92%, temperature increased from 36 to 39 degrees Celsius).

Moving on to the 3DMark Solar Bay Stress Test, the most rigorous test in this evaluation. For those who may not know, this test will automatically repeat 20 times to assess the phone's stability when performing heavy tasks such as video editing, gaming, etc. Please pay attention to the Stability aspect as it is the most crucial factor in this test.

Xiaomi 14 Handles Current Popular Games Smoothly
To give you a clearer picture of Xiaomi 14's gaming performance, I've downloaded four popular games: Arena of Valor, Call of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail. Additionally, I used PerfDog software to measure the FPS of each game. You can find more details here!

- Arena of Valor
Kicking off the gaming test is the national MOBA title Arena of Valor. In this game, I set the graphics to the highest level supported by Xiaomi 14 with FPS set to High and image quality set to High as shown below.
During gameplay, Xiaomi 14 delivers a smooth experience, even during intense battles with numerous complex skill effects. I noticed the back of the device gets slightly warm, but it doesn't significantly affect the handling experience.
- Call of Duty Mobile
For the shooting game Call of Duty, I set the 'Image Quality' to Medium and pushed the 'Frame Rate' setting to Ultra (equivalent to 60 FPS) on Xiaomi 14. You can see the images below.

I'm satisfied with the Call of Duty Mobile experience on Xiaomi 14. Setting the FPS to Ultra (equivalent to 60 FPS), the in-game movements are smooth, scene transitions are fast with beautiful graphics. Moreover, aiming, shooting, and character control are handled well by the device with minimal frame drops.
- Genshin Impact:
Moving on to the graphically intensive game Genshin Impact, I maxed out the image settings and frame rate on Xiaomi 14. You can refer to the image below.

During the experience, I found Xiaomi 14 handled Genshin Impact fairly well. However, the game's frame rate is not stable, and the device often experiences frame drops during actions with many effects. Additionally, the back of the device also warms up after playing for more than 5 minutes. I believe Genshin Impact may not be optimized well for Xiaomi 14 yet.
- Honkai: Star Rail
In another game from Hoyoverse, Honkai: Star Rail, I also set the image settings and frame rate to maximum, similar to the game Genshin Impact above. You can refer to the image below.

Despite the graphics settings in Honkai: Star Rail being set to the highest level, Xiaomi 14 can still handle this game relatively well. Character movements and scenes are detailed and vibrant. However, the game's frame rate is not consistently maintained, and the device often experiences slight stuttering.
Concluding the gaming section, I believe Xiaomi 14 can smoothly handle various popular games thanks to the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. However, the device struggles with heavy graphics games like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

I think the reason could be that these games are not yet optimized well for Xiaomi 14. Another factor may come from the heat generated by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, affecting the overall performance of Xiaomi 14. Therefore, I hope Xiaomi can address this issue soon through software updates in the future.
Xiaomi 14 with 4,610mAh battery for long-lasting gaming sessions
In this section, I'll continue playing the 4 aforementioned games: Liên Quân Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Genshin Impact, and Honkai: Star Rail continuously to see how Xiaomi 14's 4,610mAh battery performs. Below are the conditions of the test I conducted.
- Play a single game until the device runs out of battery.
- Set screen brightness to 100% and enable 120Hz refresh rate.
- Turn on external speaker with volume set to 50%.
- Enable WiFi and social media notifications.
- Do not enable battery saver mode, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth.
- Start measuring from 100% battery until it reaches 0%.
- Game Turbo mode is activated to enhance device performance.
The results obtained are as follows:

- Honkai: Star Rail: 3 hours 21 minutes.
- Genshin Impact: 3 hours 38 minutes.
- Liên Quân Mobile: 5 hours 14 minutes.
- Call Of Duty Mobile: 5 hours 52 minutes.
The results above demonstrate that Xiaomi 14 has excellent battery life with Liên Quân Mobile (5 hours 14 minutes) and Call Of Duty Mobile (5 hours 52 minutes). However, for Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact, the device consumes more battery due to handling more frames, animations, and because I set the in-game graphics to the highest level. Overall, I believe Xiaomi 14 will still meet the gaming needs of most users who don't play excessively heavy games. In the case that you're a hardcore gamer, Xiaomi's flagship phone may not be the best choice.

However, please note that the conditions under which I evaluated are more demanding than actual usage. Therefore, the gaming time you experience may be longer. I also need to emphasize that these results are for reference only because the outcome will depend on the in-game graphics settings you choose, as well as usage conditions and other environmental factors.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Xiaomi 14 stands out as a flagship model with top-tier performance in the current market. I believe the device can effectively meet the basic usage needs of most users. However, Xiaomi 14 still faces some software optimization issues and lacks a truly smooth experience with heavy gaming. I hope Xiaomi can address these minor drawbacks as soon as possible.
