The British automotive brand announced on Monday that the delivery of its first motorcycle, the AMB 001, has finally commenced — two and a half years since its initial debut. And true to its promise, this track-focused two-wheeler, a result of collaboration with Brough Superior, is truly a superbike.
The AMB 001 made its debut at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November 2019. Specially designed for racing, the bike combines striking design with tremendous power. All the power of this machine comes from the Brough Superior's V-twin engine, turbocharged for the first time and capable of producing a staggering 183 horsepower (three more horsepower than previously stated). Initially slated for production at Brough Superior's factory in Toulouse, France by the end of 2020, delays due to the pandemic have allowed Aston Martin and Brough Superior more time to test the bike on the track and ensure it can achieve all its goals.
'We are thrilled to have achieved our performance goals, with a power output of 183 horsepower and a dry weight of 185 kg. The AMB 001 is an original racing machine that stimulates the senses and delivers outstanding performance,' said Thierry Henriette, president of Brough Superior, in a statement. 'The distinctive sound of the turbocharger completes the unique presence of this special motorcycle.'Aston Martin has announced that the first 30 AMB 001 motorcycles have been delivered to customers worldwide, including Japan, Australia, and North America. Only one hundred of these $120,000 bikes will be produced. Reports suggest that 90 of them already have owners. If you want to purchase one of the final ten, you can register here.
And if this motorcycle were to appear in James Bond films, it wouldn't be surprising. After all, it's an Aston Martin. And if Aston Martin's first motorcycle were a Bond film, it might be named 'Better Late Than Never Say Never Again'.Theo discovered the latest updates on Brough Superior AMB 001 deliveries via Visordown.
