Exploring Đồng Tháp, amazed by the sprawling '4-kilometer phoenix avenue' in Lấp Vò
During the first days of May, many people traveling along National Highway 80 from Sa Đéc City to Vàm Cống ferry (Lấp Vò district, Đồng Tháp province) passing through Bình Thành commune are filled with excitement as they admire the vibrant red phoenix blossoms along the nearly 4km stretch of road.
From May to the end of July is the best time to admire the phoenix blossoms, as they burst into radiant bloom. Along this stretch of road, hundreds of majestic phoenix trees simultaneously bloom, creating an incredibly romantic scene. The Xáng canal runs parallel to the phoenix trees, with several rice milling factories adding to the picturesque scenery.
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Bé, who sells drinks along the road, said the phoenix trees were planted over 10 years ago. Every day, many young people and tourists visit to take commemorative photos.
“During the phoenix blossom season, my beverage stall sees much better business, thanks to local residents and tourists visiting Dong Thap. In about two weeks, it will be the most beautiful time for phoenix blossoms,” said Ms. Bé.
