Due to the absence of new GPUs from NVIDIA at CES 2024, ASUS might only upgrade the processors in their flagship gaming laptops and call it a day. Fortunately, ASUS has completely redesigned the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16, offering the perfect blend of performance and aesthetics for gamers.
The most significant change in this lineup is the newly CNC-machined aluminum chassis, combined with a boxy design featuring clean, sleek lines. This not only makes the laptops more robust and durable but also makes both models slimmer by up to 4mm and lighter by up to 0.3 pounds (136 grams) compared to the previous generation.

Additionally, the keycaps and speakers have been enlarged by 12% and 20% respectively. Instead of multicolored RGB lighting, the laptops feature a single strip of white LED light diagonally across the lid. This creates a bold yet understated aesthetic. The machines come in two color options: Eclipse Gray or Platinum White.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 are the first ROG laptops to feature OLED displays. The G14 model sports a 14-inch screen with 3K resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, while the G16 model boasts a 16-inch screen with 2.5K resolution and 240 Hz refresh rate.

Both displays are provided by Samsung and feature the ROG Nebula OLED display technology, with a 16:10 aspect ratio, achieving VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, supporting NVIDIA G-Sync, and boasting a rapid response time of just 0.2 ms.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 utilizes an AMD Ryzen 8000 series processor with NVIDIA RTX 4070 GPU, while the G16 is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 chip paired with RTX 4090 GPU. Both versions come with up to 32 GB of DDR5X RAM.

Other minor differences include the G14 featuring a microSD card slot, while the G16 offers full memory options along with a larger battery capacity (90 Whr versus 73 Whr). Although ASUS seems to have overlooked Wi-Fi 7 support, Wi-Fi 6e still provides rapid connectivity speeds.
Another significant addition is the introduction of the ASUS Slim Power port, which will be the company's default charging port for high-power systems in the ROG lineup and the brand's popular series.

Unfortunately, there is still no information available regarding the expected prices for ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16. However, ASUS has stated that they will provide more detailed information when their new laptops officially hit the shelves in February.
What do you think about the specifications and design of the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16?
