For fans of Ayakashi Triangle manga, there's distressing news as recent chapters haven't been released, sparking concerns.
Just at the outset of the new year, it seems issues regarding temporary halts or potential removal of certain manga series are garnering attention. Most recently, both online copyright platforms Viz Media and Manga Plus concurrently announced they wouldn't be publishing Ayakashi Triangle chapter 74. While no explicit reason was given, many speculate that overly sensitive content and numerous mature-themed illustrations are the primary causes. In an attempt to reassure readers, both Viz Media and Manga Plus stated they'll resume normal publication with chapter 75. However, when Ayakashi Triangle chapter 75 was supposed to be released on January 16, 2022, neither platform updated the latest installment of this series. It's evident that this manga is grappling with content issues, resulting in its discontinuation.
To shed some light on the two platforms mentioned earlier, Viz Media is a licensed manga and anime distributor specializing in Japanese media in Western markets. On the other hand, Manga Plus is a Shueisha-owned copyright platform, associated with Weekly Shonen Jump, Young Jump, and several other prominent manga magazines. These two platforms are regarded as the premier legal reading platforms for non-Japanese audiences currently. The fact that both platforms declined to publish Ayakashi Triangle, not just once but two consecutive chapters, fuels concerns that the series might be entirely discontinued on these platforms. Should that happen, readers will only be able to continue reading Ayakashi Triangle by purchasing Weekly Shonen Jump magazines in Japan or resorting to unofficial sources.
Ayakashi Triangle is a creation of Kentaro Yabuki, the mastermind behind the success of To Love Ru. Debuting in June 2020, Ayakashi Triangle narrates the tale of a demon slayer, who, due to being ensnared by a spell from the demon Shirogane, transforms into an incredibly beautiful girl. From here, the story intertwines ecchi elements with humor, characteristic of Ayakashi Triangle.
Currently, Ayakashi Triangle enjoys considerable popularity in Japan, with rumors swirling about an anime adaptation. However, in the latest two chapters, due to the 'understood by all' reason of excessively controversial content, the manga has become inaccessible to readers worldwide (outside Japan) as before. Should this trend persist, the disappearance of Ayakashi Triangle from the global market could be a looming possibility. To alter this trajectory, it seems the author Kentaro Yabuki will need to adjust the content to better align with expectations.
