In addition to Yen Tu Pagoda starting to charge entrance fees, many other attractions have also implemented ticket price hikes since the beginning of 2018.
Attractions with Ticket Price Increases Since 2018
Ticket prices have increased from tens to hundreds of thousands, depending on the location.
Fansipan Cable Car
Starting from 1/1/2018, the ticket prices for the Fansipan cable car in Sa Pa have increased from 600,000 to 700,000 VND/adult and from 400,000 to 500,000 VND/child. This is the first ticket price adjustment since the cable car route opened in February 2016.

Furthermore, after more than a year of operation welcoming guests, the mountain train to the summit of Fansipan has also adjusted its ticket prices, effective since the beginning of 2018. Accordingly, the upward ticket price is 70,000 VND, downward is 80,000 VND, for both adults and children. Previously, round-trip tickets were priced at 100,000 VND/adult and 70,000 VND/child.
Please note that the cable car takes tourists to a height of 3,000 meters. If you want to conquer the roof of Indochina at 3,143 meters, tourists must climb about 660 steps or take the mountain train (closer to the top of Fansipan).
Cham Museum

The entrance fee for visiting the Cham Sculpture Museum in Da Nang will also apply new prices: 60,000 VND/adult, 10,000 VND/student. Previously, the ticket prices were 40,000 VND and 5,000 VND respectively.
The museum is located at 24 Tran Phu Street, open daily from 7 am to 5 pm. This is the largest Cham artifact exhibition museum in Vietnam, with 2,000 artifacts. It attracts around 300,000 visitors annually, mainly international tourists.
Museum in Ho Chi Minh City
A series of museums in Ho Chi Minh City will implement ticket price increases from the first day of the new year 2018. Among them, the War Remnants Museum has an entrance fee of 40,000 VND/person. Ho Chi Minh City Museum, Fine Arts Museum, and History Museum are priced at 30,000 VND/person. This price applies to adults, regardless of Vietnamese or foreign nationality.
Previously, the entrance fees for these museums were 2,000 - 10,000 VND for Vietnamese visitors and 10,000 - 15,000 VND for foreign visitors.
Yen Tu
After 10 years, Quang Ninh province begins to charge entrance fees for visiting the Yen Tu relic complex at 40,000 VND/adult and 20,000 VND/child.
Currently, pilgrims to Yen Tu, wishing to reach the top of Dong Pagoda, can choose to climb by the two-stage cable car route (with the midpoint being Hoa Yen Pagoda). The round-trip cable car ticket for two stages is 280,000 VND/person. Round-trip ticket for one stage is 200,000 VND, one-way ticket for one stage is 120,000 VND.
