Different from the previous auto-play feature on phones that users commonly used, what does the Auto-play video feature on the YouTube home screen bring for Android users?
According to Android Central, the Play as you browse feature operates on the YouTube app home screen:
“When you access YouTube with the Play as you browse feature, videos will play as you scroll through the YouTube app home screen on your device.”
Fortunately, this feature doesn't impact sound as the sound doesn't automatically play. Instead, subtitles are displayed in a preview when the video plays from start to finish. The currently playing video is in the top corner of the screen, and the next videos will play as you scroll to them.
Users can completely disable the Play as you browse feature by accessing Settings => General. Additionally, users can only use this feature when connected to Wi-Fi to save mobile data on their devices.
