Autumnal Charm of Rú Chá Forest Captured by Flycam

Rú Chá Forest, situated in Hương Phong commune, Hương Trà town, Thừa Thiên – Huế province, is one of the rare remaining mangrove forests along the Tam Giang estuary. In the local dialect of Huế, “rú” means forest, and “chá” is the name of a distinctive tree species found in the mangrove forests.
A local resident mentioned that in the past, entering Rú Chá Forest was not easy; one had to wade through water, use boats, or trudge through mud like herding buffalo. Nowadays, tourists can easily navigate by motorcycle on the concrete roads under the tree canopies or take small boats to explore Rú Chá Forest.
With an area of about 5 hectares, the forest serves the purpose of preventing saltwater intrusion and safeguarding aquatic resources and mainland.
The place features chá trees with roots in various shapes, intricately intertwined, serving as a refuge for horseshoe crabs.

Rú Chá Forest is a newly popular tourist destination, attracting many young campers, photographers, and especially a meeting point for photographers to create autumn-themed photos every year.
'Rú Chá in autumn is beautiful, with the canopies of chá trees adorned in yellow. Fishermen paddling small boats add a lively touch to the autumn scenery,' shared photographer Nguyễn Tấn Tuấn (HCMC).

From the center of Huế city, travelers driving along National Highway 49 will see a sign indicating straight ahead leads to Thuận An Beach, while turning left leads to Tam Giang Bridge. Choose the left turn towards Tam Giang Bridge, drive about 4km to reach Rú Chá. From a distance, visitors easily recognize the pristine Rú Chá forest with its majestic clusters of chá trees.

In the heart of Rú Chá forest lies an ancient temple dedicated to the Holy Mother, renowned for its divine aura. Locals frequently visit to light candles and offer their respects. The villagers organize a solemn memorial ceremony for the Holy Mother on the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month.
There are no eateries or restaurants in Rú Chá, so travelers should prepare their provisions before arriving.
After immersing yourself in the golden and red hues of Rú Chá's autumn, about 2km on the way back, you can explore Cồn Tè and indulge in delicious seafood at affordable eateries.
